AAI Indoor Relays – Nenagh

There was a superb performance from our athletes at the 'AAI Indoor Relays' in Nenagh on Saturday last with several good victories. First up was victory in the 2 x 60m hurdles from Louise Harvey and Mary McLoone in 19.86. Next the 4 x 200m with Kitty O’Kennedy, Louise Harvey, Aoife O’Connor and Mary McLoone breaking the tape in 1.54.45 and most impressive in completing the running treble with victory in the 4 x 400m with Mary McLoone, Louise, Michelle and Catherine Harvey clocking 4.26.75 for a very fine victory.
Moving to the jumping events where again two athletes compete in each event where the best distance jumped or height cleared are added to give the winners. Again it was to be a clean sweep for our club with in the 2 x triple jump, Ethna McLoone and Aoife O’Connor combining with 19.42m taking first, while Mary McLoone and Aoife joined forces to take gold in the long jump with a combined total of 10.43m – Mary breaking the sand with a massive 5.90m while Aoife landed a best of 4.53m.
The long jump saw a first with Ethna and Mary taking first with a total of 2.89m while Catherine and Louise Harvey cleared a total of 2.80m.
